Most of the traditional festivals in Vietnam are often held in spring and autumn, the two most beautiful seasons in a year, and are the leisure time after the harvest season.

Statistically, there are 7,966 festivals in Vietnam. The main part of them is folklore festival, and the rest are religious, historical festival and festival from other countries. In Vietnam’s culture, festival is the specific section which is witnessed throughout the country. Some of them were born thousands of year before and still being carried on until now. Vietnam’s festival is always in the respect of God of Human of God of Natural. That is the very lofty and beautiful ideal of Vietnam’s people, which helps them remember their kin, incline to the good, and build a fruitful and happy life.
 
Some famous festival: Elephant racing festival in Central Highland; Huong (perfume pagoda) in Hanoi festival, Vu Lan Festival; Lim festival; Phu Giay in Nam Dinh festival, Hue festival, Giong in Gia Lam festival...
