The Viet Nam Railways Corporation will offer a 3% - 25% discount on rail fares on Ha Noi – Lao Cai route from December 1.


Train ticket prices will be reduced 3% for hard seats without air-conditioning; 22% for soft seats with air-conditioning, six-bed compartments with air-conditioning; and 25% for hard seats with air-conditioning and four-bed compartments with air-conditioning.

After the adjustments, the highest priced fares will be VND 450,000 per ticket for four-bed compartments with air-conditioning while the lowest will be VND 145,000 for hard seats without air-conditioning.

The Viet Nam Railway Corporation will discount fares for people over 60 years old and Vietnamese heroic mothers. Wounded soldiers, SOS High School students, and students with disabilities will also receive a 10% discount on train fares.


The seat fares do not apply during holidays such as Tet holiday or summer holiday, according to Phung Thi Ly Ha, stationmaster of Ha Noi Railway Station.
